    Computer: 1GB
I upgrade from 512MB to 1GB at home. Supposedly this is an easy way to notice performance improvements. As simple as pressing opening up the Dell (the new ones are laid out nicely inside), opening up the connectors on my empty memory slot, pressing in the new memory, closing up the box, and turning on the computer. Nothing confusing about it.

    Ice cream block party
Someone on our block won the Dreyers Slow Churned Neighborhood Salute Ice Cream Block Party. So this afternoon, we all got together and ate ice cream. It would have been more clever if I took photos.

A Dreyer's press release stated that the 1,500 winners were chosen out of more than 15,500 entries. The company cited two recent studies that it said "underscore that gatherings such as block parties are ideal opportunities to build awareness, safety networks and increase confidence and connections among neigbhors.

    List of winners

I hope that this will inspire us to host a carport potluck sometime in October or November. Perhaps February...

The biggest surprise: the number of kids that live on our street.

    Bowling
The summer interns and their mentors went bowling yesterday. My scores were 104, 95, and 128. I didn't know what to expect but it seems like 100 is a decent score. Some of the folks from marketing and HR were getting multiple strikes. Someone got 3 in a row. I think I got perhaps 3 in 3 games. The most improved person went from getting 1-4 pins per frame to a score of 80 (and one strike) by the end of the afternoon. It was definitely fun. Take the bobcats bowling, take them bowling...

    Absense
Does it matter that one doesn't post to a blog? It definitely isn't a daily log if there isn't any daily activity?

So mine is a mlog -- monthly log.

I went to Tai Chi again tonight. First time since about the last blog posting. I'm glad I went. I will keep going.
